Types of Computer Network Hardware

Network Hardware Computer (hardware) are the tools that are used to connect computers to other computers in the network for the purpose of sharing data, sharing information and also share sebuh peripherals in the network. So the hardware is the opposite of computer software. As an example, or a wide-ranged hardware is as follows:

1.  Network cable (UTP)
The definition of a network cable (UTP) is the cable that connects the computer with a computer, from the server to the switch / hub and others. network cable also as an intermediary between users with other users in a local area (in the office, home and etc.) Uses UTP cable is a cable that is specifically designed to deliver data transmission in a computer network. UTP stands for Unshielded Twisted Pair Unshielded = not meaningful resistance to electromagnetic interference, and Twisted Pair = means consist of pairs of cables arranged berlilitan or spiral shape.

2. NIC (Network Interface Card)

NIC (Network Interface Card) or a Network Card is one device that provides a medium for connecting between computers. Most Network Card manifold internal card, which is a network card installed in an expansion slot inside the computer.
NIC is a function Appliances connect a network cable to the computer and Appliances provide physical addressing. The network card has a specific code that is unique.

3. Hub

Hub is one of the hardware that is very important in computer networks, hubs greatly affect the process of speeding up connections between computers so that when the hub is damaged then the entire network will be disconnected and also disrupted. Hub is a function of the signal receiver from a computer and is the central point that connects to all computers in the network.

4. Connector
The definition of a link between the cable connectors are used as transmission media with components where the cable will be connected, for example to a computer or other network equipment. Each type of cable has different connectors.

  5. Repeater

Definition of the Repeater is a tool that serves to amplify the signal in a computer network.
Repeater function is generally Repeating back jets, with the intention of reinforcing beam received so much stronger and can reach longer distances or extend the range.

6. Switch

Definition of the Switch is a computer hardware that connects computers to form a network segment. Switch works at the data link layer, how the switch is almost the same as bridge, but the switch has a number of ports much so that the switch is often called a multi-port bridge.

7. Router

The definition of a router is a device used to divide the Protocol to other tissues, then the router is a protocol we can share to other network devices.
The router function is as a link between multiple networks to carry data from one network to another. Different routers to switches. Switch is connecting several tools to form a Local Area Network (LAN).

8. Modem
Modem comes from the words modulator or demodulator. Modulator tool that functions convert the information signal into a signal (carrier) and ready to be delivered, while Demodulator is a device that separates signaling information from the received signal carrier so that such information can be received with a good deal. So understanding modems are generally two-way communication tool.

Modem receiving a series of binary pulses of computer peripherals, and then modulate the characteristics of the analog signal to be transmitted over telephone lines or cablelines. While on the receiver, the signal carrying separated by the demodulator circuit that brought him back from the signal so that it can be read by a computer and the process is called demodulation process.
